Description

Sunday, June 30, 1912 was a very hot day in Regina, Saskatchewan. Late that afternoon, two ominous black clouds appeared on the southern horizon--then, suddenly, the funnel cloud of an awesome tornado!

About the authors

Warren James is a Regina storyteller with a love of folklore, history and the fantastic. In 2008, he wrote his first book, The Return of the Fearsome Critters. The "Fearsome Critters" were mythological beasts said to hide in the lumberwoods and Warren wrote the book in part to ensure this rapidly disappearing folklore would be available to future generations. Warren lives in Regina with his wife, Dr. Anne Marie James, and is currently at work on a novel and another book of folklore.

Growing up on the prairies gave Carly Reimer a rich connection to nature and evoked her first drawings of animals. Although mostly self-taught, she has explored various methods of painting, and has archived a knowledge of the arts from her travels. Her artwork continues to change conceptually and grows as she hones her skills. Cyclone! The Regina Tornado of 1912 is her first book.
