Description
If you were swept away in the rushing waters of a raging river, what would you do?
Barry is doing his best to overcome his reputation as a bit of a scaredycat when he volunteers to lend a hand filling sandbags to help prevent flooding in his home town of Valley View. But things don't go as planned, and he finds himself in a dangerous situation, having to cope with the raging river, a couple of criminals, and some grown-up responsibilities in the adventure of his life!
About the authors
Jean Freeman loves sharing laughter with children, so she likes to tell funny stories. Jean is an actor as well as a storyteller, and for six seasons she played the mayor's grandma in the popular Canadian TV comedy series Corner Gas, and again in Corner Gas: The Movie. Do Trees Sneeze? is her fourth early-reader book with Val Lawton, following Where Does Your Dog Sleep?, Where Does Your Cat Nap? and Wascana Wild Goose Chase. Also look for Terror on Turtle Creek, an adventure story for slightly older readers.
RoseMarie Condon finds her inspiration in the Canadian wilderness and its flora and fauna. Extensive travels between the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans have taught her much about Canada and its peoples. RoseMarie is an award-winning fine artist, photographer and writer. Also an illustrator and designer, she has employed her love of whimsy to create children's games, books, toys and animated Christmas windows. RoseMarie's studio is in the jewel of the City of Kawartha Lakes, Fenelon Falls, Ontario.
