Description

Angela's summer holiday with her aunt and uncle in Siena, Italy changes her life forever. First she manages to save the life of the jittery horse Tempesta. Next she falls head over heals for Tony, a local jockey. And finally, as a last minute replacement in the upcoming Palio, she has to ride Tempesta and race against Tony.

Ann Chandler has published non-fiction for adults in Reader's Digest, The Beaver, and Canadian Cowboy Country. Her previous novel for young people was Siena Summer. She lives in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Elisa Gutiérrez is an award-winning designer, author and illustrator. Her book Picturescape was short-listed for the Christie Harris Illustrated Children's Literature Prize, was honored by the Alcuin Society and was the subject of a scholarly paper by the renowned Dr. Lawrence Sipe. Elisa has designed over 100 books and specializes in book design for children. Born and raised in Mexico City, Elisa now lives in Vancouver.
