Description
Northern Newfoundland is a place both lush and barren. Harsh winds and cold temperatures have left their mark on this great part of our country, and back before the days of electricity and roads, people had to rely on food that would last a long period of time. The traditional recipes collected within these pages are a time capsule to what it was like in those days, although many will recognize dishes still loved by people today. In Northern Newfoundland Cooking, Ada J. Gillard has compiled a unique taste of yesteryear and, through photographs, trivia, and timely tips, has captured the flavour of Northern Newfoundland.
