About the authors
Shelayne est une enseignante au niveau élémentaire en Nouvelle-Écosse depuis plus de 25 ans. Ses grands-parents et ses arrière-grands-parents paternels et maternels parlaient le gaélique, mais comme dans bon nombre de familles, la langue n'a pas été transmise aux plus jeunes générations. Son appréciation pour son propre patrimoine a été approfondie par les expériences d'apprentissage de ses filles, et Shelayne appuie ses filles dans le partage des traditions de leur patrimoine gaélique avec les autres par la musique et l'éducation.
Shelayne Hanson has been an elementary school educator in Nova Scotia for over 25 years. Grandparents and great-grandparents on both sides of her family spoke Gaelic, but as in so many families, the language was not passed on. Her appreciation of her own heritage deepened through her daughters' learning experiences, and Shelayne supports her girls in sharing the traditions of their Gaelic heritage with others through music and education.

Etta est graphiste et illustratrice depuis 35 ans. Dans le cadre de son travail avec les musées, elle a redécouvert ses propres racines gaéliques. Etta porte le nom de sa grand-mère maternelle, qui parlait le gaélique, et elle poursuit sa tradition du conte par l'illustration. Aujourd'hui, elle profite de toutes les occasions de créer des concepts et des images qui racontent les histoires des Gaëls de la Nouvelle-Écosse à une nouvelle génération.
Etta Moffatt has been working as a designer and illustrator for 35 years. Through her work with museums, she rediscovered her own Gaelic roots. Named after her Gaelic-speaking grandmother, Etta carries on her storytelling tradition through illustration. Today she enjoys every opportunity to create designs and images that tell the stories of Nova Scotia Gaels to a new generation.
