Editorial Reviews
"Posteraro insists the book isn't just food porn, beautiful pictures of food unattainable for the home cook. 'I find the recipes to be elaborate in their thinking and in the conceiving of the recipes, but they are very easy and accessible and easy to execute,' Posteraro said."
Canadian Press
"A recipe book can be as revealing as a well-done portrait painting, giving us a glimpse into the heart and soul of the writer. Such is Cioppino's Mediterranean Grill, a book by Pino Posteraro, the much-lauded chef...All of Posteraro's dishes pay homage to [his] Italian roots...But as the book clearly shows, Posteraro never stops learning or tinkering."
The Province
"This is a cookbook for ambitious cooks...The results, though complex, are beautifully balanced and represent an ideal of sophistication to which cooks can aspire."
Wine Access Magazine
"It's a beauty of a cookbook. Keep a hand towel nearby because the photos by John Sherlock will have you drooling like a St. Bernard."
Vancouver Sun
"This is, in a word, an exceptionally good cook book from an exceptionally talented chef. The food it offers is uniformly excellent, and occasionally remarkable. Pino Posteraro...is now a master in his own right, and one who practices in the culinary stratosphere."
Books in Canada
"A handsome memoir/cookbook, bubbles over with colour and the heat and fragrance of his hugely imaginative, clearly written recipes: pappardelle with four-hour veal cheeks, anyone?"
More Magazine
"Cioppino's provides some of the most accessible and accomplished recipes yet published by a high-profile Canadian restaurant chef, offering dozens of dishes born of Posteraro's restaurant...Cioppino's is a gorgeous cookbook, perfect for ambitious home cooks seeking challenges that are approachable yet still demanding."
Quill & Quire
"Cioppino's Mediterranean Grill exudes the understated elegance of its namesake restaurant...Recipes combine fresh ingredients with simple preparation methods that let the flavours shine through. Clear instructions give home chefs the confidence to produce elegant Mediterranean fare."
