Description

A bold and joyful picture book about the joys of camping, following a brother and sister on their first camp-out, and the wild animals they encounter!
Out the door, down the stairs
Chatting, chirping jays.
In the car, winding roads
Dozing, snoozing bears.
Are you wild about camping?
In this delightful picture book, a brother and sister are excited for their first camping trip! On each page they experience all the fun of setting off for the woods, and readers will delight in seeing the siblings' actions mirrored by wild animals. From yanking the cords to get the tent set up (pulling, tugging moose) to swimming in the lake (floating, bobbing loons) to laughing and singing around the campfire (calling, hooting owls), kids and animals alike experience all the fun of a good camp-out. Featuring lilting text and bright, joyful artwork, this read-aloud will quickly become a campfire favourite.

About the authors

Jane Whittingham is a librarian from Burnaby, British Columbia, and earned her Masters of Library and Information Sciences at UBC with an emphasis on children's librarianship and literature. Much like the adventurous main characters in her fiction picture books, Wild One, A Good Day for Ducks, and Queenie Quail Can’t Keep Up, Jane loves to explore. And much like the children photographed in her nonfiction picture book Animals Move, she loves a lively story time!
