Description

The wolf has captured our imagination for centuries. Each year, thousands journey to wilderness parks hoping to see this elusive creature or hear its haunting howl. Despite our fascination, however, the wolf remains largely misunderstood. Contrary to its image as a blood-thirsty, marauding beast, there is no record of a wolf killing a human in North America. Trail of the Wolf seeks to dispel the common misperceptions that have often resulted in the persecution of this fascinating animal. Beautifully illustrated by top wildlife photographers, Trail of the Wolf features wolves from around the world. Images of prey species and the wolf's close relatives,as well as maps and line drawings, add to the visual excitement of this superb volume. (1997)
