Description
Eric Walters' series about the zoo next door continues!
Mr. McCurdy and Vladimir are well on their way to installing the new animals on Mr. McCurdy's farm: Boo Boo the bear, Peanuts the elephant, Kushna the tiger, and Sarah's pet deer are joining the family of exotic creatures, and it's hard work moving them in.
But when a young boy sneaks into the big cats' barn, mayhem breaks loose. McCurdy's old rival, the community's mayor, has an excuse to question the security of the exotic animal farm — and soon they're threatened by an overzealous inspector. The local newspaper gets in on the action, and animal-rights protesters invade the farm. To make matters worse, Sarah and Nicholas's mother is dating the police chief! Whose side will she take in the fight for Tiger Town?

Excerpt: Tiger Town (by (author) Eric Walters)
From Tiger Town:"Watch this," Nick said from the back of the elephant. We all turned to face him in time to see Peanuts bow gracefully — at least gracefully for an elephant. Whispering in his ear, Nick got Peanuts to stand, lifting one front foot and theopposite back foot off the ground. Quickly lowering those feet, the elephant raised his othertwo. It was pretty impressive. Peanuts then responded as Nick had him back up, turn andelevate his trunk. I had to hand it to Nick — he really was doing incredibly well."Pretty impressive, don't you think, Malcolm?"I asked. There was no response. I glanced over. He wasn't there. Frantically I looked around. He was gone. The other four kids were standing right there. Then, suddenly, a blood-curdling scream shot from the stairs, coming from the stable. It had to be Malcolm. He was alone down there with the big cats!
