Description
Hastings, on the south coast of England, Dublin and Galway Bay in Ireland have a single compelling link in The View From Errisbeg: it is the poet Walter O’Flaherty – or more particularly, his latest collection of poems. He’s in Hastings, manically entangled with Liannan, his muse and girlfriend. In his distracted state he washes up with the tide at Grace Fletcher’s bed and breakfast where he becomes guest of honour at her poetry group. In Dublin, Walter’s publisher is suspicious of the origins of his latest work and sets off to Galway and Errisbeg to test her theories, much to the concern of her colleague Hugh.
Poetry, love and obsession play their vital roles in each strand of this remarkable story as it unfolds over a single week in February.
About the author
Sheil Graham-Smith was born into a military family in New Brunswick, Canada. Life's journey has taken her to many places, notably Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland and the United States. Now she has returned to Atlantic Canada where she lives in rural Nova Scotia.
