About the authors
Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924) was born in England but moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, with her family in 1865. She began writing stories at an early age and quickly achieved success as a novelist. The Secret Garden was inspired by a real rose garden she enjoyed during one of her many visits to England.

Elizabeth Goodnight grew up aspiring to be an author of children's books. As the youngest of five, she was always playing make-believe and going on exciting adventures through the neighborhood with her siblings. She never outgrew her vivid imagination and sense of adventure and has since used it to create her very first children's book. Elizabeth currently resides in a beautiful valley with her husband and their numerous pets and hopes to continue writing books that inspire little adventurers just like her.
