Description

A detailed enquiry into the decline of a once-great industry situated on one of the world's richest fishery banks. The impact of post-war international monetary and trade factors, the growing continental orientation of Canadian economic policies, political tensions within and between Newfoundland and Canada, persistent problems of high unemployment, low incomes and the loss of production to foreign fishing fleets, all contributed to the trade's collapse.
