Description

The Secret of Love is a compilation of amazing stories from couples whose relationships improved or completely turned around just by being pointed within, toward their true nature. These couples began to see how they were contributing to their problems from insights gained as they were learning. They saw how they could work with the force of nature, rather than against it. The inspiration for the book came from “Thought and Marriage” by the late Sydney Banks, the person who uncovered the Three Principles that create everyone’s experience of life, including the invisible power and the common denominator behind all relationships.

Mind, Consciousness and Thought are the Three Principles that enable us to acknowledge and respond to existence. They are the basic building blocks, and it is through these components that all psychological mysteries are unfolded. –Sydney Banks

Contributor Notes

Lori Carpenos intended to be an art teacher but instead became a marriage and family therapist, largely because of her fascination with relationships. She wondered why some relationships were short-lived and others lasted a lifetime, and why some relationships were full of contempt while others were warm and loving. What was the difference? Was it a matter of finding the right person, or was it some unknown ingredient that created the magic? When she met Sydney Banks in 1985, she saw the value and the results of showing people their hidden health and wellbeing, and knew she had to share what she found. Mr. Banks’ Three Principles provides the key to unlock the magic that exists somewhere deep inside. In her practice she hears the stories of a diverse mix of people. Many of those who seek her help are on their last dollar, returning to society after deployment or prison, in abusive relationships or those just wanting to sort out an issue. The thing that these people and that all of us have in common is that we operate the same psychologically, regardless of our background or our current circumstances. The only variable is what we think about. Understanding the Three Principles can help everyone in every unique situation.

Christine Heath is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an ardent believer in Sydney Banks’ Three Principles. Calling Hawaii home, she is the Executive Director of the Hawaii Counseling and Education Center, overseeing the operation of five offices while maintaining a clinical practice. Born in small town Minnesota, she has been an LMFT since the late 1970s. She has been giving workshops and seminars on the Three Principles for more than 35 years. Almost nothing makes her happier than sharing the Principles and transforming people into their true nature. She has three children, five grandchildren and lives with her husband of 27 happy years, their five four-legged children (dogs) and six cows.
