Description

From his prairie childhood of the '20s to his experiences as an itinerant worker riding the rails during the Dirty Thirties, from riding the range and mining ore in B.C. to serving in the tank corps in Italy during the Second World War, from knee-bolting in a sawmill to bulldozing roads, Frank Vanyo's compilation of memories--written with humour and nostalgia--convey the harsh realities of a bygone era and a man's determination to live life to the fullest despite them.
