Editorial Reviews

Praise for Over at the Rink:"Kids don't have to be hockey fans to enjoy the bouncing rhythm of this counting book . . . [Over at the Rink] will have little Crosby wannabes chanting along as the book is read aloud. Scot Ritchie's boldly hued, cartoonish illustrations are a perfect match for this primer on numbers, hockey, and playing fair." —Quill & Quire"Young hockey enthusiasts will enjoy this counting book set to the rhythm of Over in the Meadow." —The Winnipeg Free Press"Do you like skating or playing hockey? If so, you might like Over at the Rink . . . Count referees, goalies and defence players as you tap along to the beat." —Chirp Magazine"The rhythm of the text is natural and bouncy, the lines easy to read and the words demanding to be read aloud . . . playful and engaging, rich in warmth and colour and energy . . . It is endearing to the story that the focus of the players and everyone else is on fun and sportsmanship." —Resource Links"Over at the Rink is a concept book that uses a game of hockey being played by two teams of children on an outdoor rink as its vehicle to reinforce young children's skill at counting from one to ten." —CM: Canadian Review of Materials
