Description
One patch of denim escapes from a pair of pants and becomes a stained-glass window, an ice-cream truck, a Ferris wheel, a fish tank and many other square surprises in this delightful board book by celebrated paper artist Marthe Jocelyn.
Jocelyn's paper collages in this wordless search-and-find adventure will encourage little ones to look closely at the world around them and explore what they see.
About the author
Marthe Jocelyn is the award-winning author and illustrator of over thirty-five books for babies, kids and teens. Her illustrated books have been shortlisted for both the Governor General’s Literary Award and the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award. In 2009 she was the recipient of the prestigious Vicky Metcalf Award for her body of work. Editorial Reviews
"Jocelyn's collages continue to be alive with colour and textures, and they invite their young viewers to not just locate the repurposed ribbon or patch but to explore the pages' details…Art teachers in schools might want to acquire One Yellow Ribbon and One Patch of Blue to use as exemplars for divergent artistic thinking."
CM: Canadian Review of Materials
"The illustrations are beautifully designed using a variety of cloth and paper to achieve the rich textures and details that are evident on every page…Caregivers and teachers can use this book to promote observation skills in the very young."
