Description

A boy lives on his island with his friends: a wolf, two cats, three ants and a swo-o-o-ooping bat. He complains that nothing ever happens, yet all around him volcanoes erupt, elephants fly through the sky and serpents swim by -- the boy and his friends are always looking the other way.

Combining collage, handmade papers, ink, hand lettering and watercolor, Marie-Louise Gay creates a whimsical, Daliesque world. This ingenious and playful book shows that boredom is really just a state of mind.
