Description

Here, in Nancy Dembowski's first book of poetry, a beautifully complicated intelligence addresses its audience directly through a sharply sensual series of treated text poems. When Dembowski rakes on Pound's Cantos, the I Ching, Thomas Jefferson, and her own mind, the result is a startling coalescence of the historical, the political, the personal, and the artistic, Dembowskis poetry has a tiger's will and a hummingbird's touch.
