Description
Adorable but head-strong Melody Mooner is determined to avoid going to bed despite the hourly pronouncements of her family.
"It's 7:00. Time for bed," said Mortimer Mooner. "I'm not going to bed," said Melody Mooner. "I'm going to play with my blaster blocks. All night long!"
By midnight, the family has given up and headed to bed themselves, leaving Melody to wander outside alone on her tricycle. But the darkness and animal sounds eventually overcome her sense of adventure. Mooing cows, croaking frogs, howling coyotes and a swooping bat finally scare her right into bed.
By adding a different playful timepiece to each illustration, John Bianchi has turned this simple read aloud about every child's least favourite evening activity into a joyful book about time.
