About the author

Contributor Notes

Glynn Barratt is a professor of Russian at Carleton University and the author of many books on Russia's naval and diplomatic history.

Editorial Reviews

Professor Barratt is to be congratulated on his detailed research in Russian archives which has resulted in giving the nineteenth century Russian navigators, covered by this volume, their rightful place in the exploration of the Pacific.

The Mariner's Mirror

An outstanding contribution to the previously neglected subject of Russian activity in the South Pacific. Strongly recommended for specialists.
