About the author

Eusebio (Seb) L. Koh has been a professor emeritus ofmathematics at the University of Regina since 1999. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of the Philippines, Masters degrees from Purdue University and the University of Birmingham in England and a PhD from SUNY, Stony Brook. He has published numerous papers in mathematics and has given lectures in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, North America and Europe.

Seb is an organizer. In 1971, he was co-founder and the first president of the Philippine Association of Saskatchewan. This organization is still very active in cultural activities and helping Filipinos in need. He also organized and was the Charter Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #12415.

Since his retirement from university teaching, he has published short stories and poems in Our Own Voice, The Best Philippine Short Stories and the Prairie Messenger, the Catholic weekly in Western Canada. He writes a column for Filipino Journal, a semimonthly newspaper in Winnipeg. When not writing, he is into tennis, crossword and Sudoku puzzles, volunteer church work and Knights of Columbus. He is married to Dony Viardo Koh and they have four grown daughters and eight grandchildren.
