Description
The purpose of this anthology is to focus attention on the relevance of one of the greatest philosophers of all time, Giambattista Vico (1668-1744), to the current research and discourse in philosophy, the human sciences, and aesthetics. Its focus is “two-pronged.” It is intended, first and foremost, as a compilation of state-of-the-art reports by leading experts on the relevance of Vico today to their respective fields. But it has also been put together with the general reader in mind. For this reason, each essay has been written in a clear and concise way, making the volume particularly useful as a reference text for university students enrolled in courses that deal with Vico, non-rationalist philosophy, semiotics, cognitive science, linguistics, communication, or culture.
