Editorial Reviews

“... Hello Humpback! serves as an introduction to an area, a culture and an art style, and its contents can likely be appreciated by an audience older than that normally associated with a board book. Highly Recommended.”

Dave Jenkinson, CM (Volume XXIV, No. 22)

“Graceful, well-constructed rhymes (“Hello humpback/ ocean blue/ chatty raven/ mountain view”) pair with First Nations artist Vickers’s crisp, luminous scenes, with animals drawn in the bold, abstracted style of the region’s indigenous artists. ...It’s a gorgeous glimpse of the distinctive landscapes and creatures of the Northwest, and it will enchant residents and nonlocals alike.”

Publishers Weekly

“Each page of brilliant art has a little bit of texture, so that toddlers can feel the pictures as well as look at them. It’s a beautiful little book for the very youngest of little ones.”
