James Reid was born to Michael and Yvonne Reid of Terrace, British Columbia. James' father is a retired educator who is a son of a British home child and a Blackfoot orphan. James? mother is the child of an Eastern European refugee who fled Europe during World War II. James is a proud father of five. With degrees in history and education, he graduated from the University of British Columbia and took his first teaching position in Masset, Haida Gwaii. He has been teaching in Haida Gwaii for eighteen years.
