For over 20 years, kids across Canada have delighted in the spooky stories of the Haunted Canada series!
And now, for the first time, four of these tales from award-winning author Joel A. Sutherland have been adapted into chilling graphic novellas and brought together in one terrifying volume. Illustrators David Bishop, Hannah Barrett, Jenn Woodall and Matt Salisbury each bring a different story to ghastly life.
In this first collection, horror lovers will read about:
- A corpse that haunts a crossroads . . .
- A creepy doll with a mind of its own . . .
- An island that is no vacation destination . . .
- A neighbour with a scary reputation . . .
Perfect for those who love graphic novels and existing fans of the original series, these four stories have it all: creepy Canadian settings, hair-raising history and super-scary storytelling. Illustrated in full colour, these blood-curdling tales are sure to keep any reader turning the pages — and awake at night.

Editorial Reviews
Praise for Haunted Canada Graphic Novel, Volume 1
"Subtitled Four Terrifying Tales, this glossy paperback is based on a bestselling Scholastic series of middle-grade horror stories. As a graphic novel, the texts are relatively short and not all that terrifying; the illustrations, however, are creepy and not something most of us would want to pore over just before going to bed. Masterfully executed, the art was created by four Canadian illustrators: Hannah Barrett tackled 'Rotting in a Cage,' a story about a vengeful corpse; Jenn Woodall illustrated 'Mandy Lives,' about a haunted doll; 'Isle of Demons' was illustrated by David Bishop; and Matt Salisbury illustrated 'Don’t Get Caught,' about an encounter with a scary neighbour who turns out to be dead." — Bernie Goedhart, Montreal Gazette
"Haunted Canada series is now a graphic novel. This first volume contains four stories based on true events. In these terrifying tales, readers will face a corpse out for revenge and be haunted by a realistic doll. They will also encounter an island of demons, and a neighbour whose yard you never want to enter. For those who like to be just a little scared, these stories are brought to life in illustrations, with just the right amount of spookiness." — Barbra Hesson, Calgary Herald
