About the authors

Thomas Teuwen spent 25 years starting owning and managing three small companies in the manufacturing, mining, energy and technology sectors. He also served as a founding member of the board of the Offshore Trade Association of Nova Scotia, as president of the Cape Breton Offshore Trade Association, as Executive Director of Vision - Community Initiatives for Regional Development and as co chair of the remediation subcommittee of the Sydney Tar Ponds Cleanup. As of 2014 Thomas has taken on the challenge of making Solar affordable. He has accepted a position as president of BlueSky Energy Systems Inc. a start-up that offers turn key solar thermal solutions to a growing dealer network of authorized installers of the CamoSun Seasonal Performance System.

Laura Lynn Parker began her professional career as a Residential Counsellor, furthered her education in the United States, then moved to Vancouver Island to accept a position as resident Audiologist for Beltone Hearing Centers. After a decade of service Laura decided to shift her focus to the field of web design before becoming passionate about sustainability issues. In 2014 Laura accepted a position as Constituent Advocate for Elizabeth May, the leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich—Gulf Islands.
