Entering the Warzone is the first book to deal with the Oka crisis from a Mohawk viewpoint. Goodleaf was directly involved in the standoff between the Mohawks and the Canadian army in the summer of 1990. She provides firsthand insight into the experience and an in-depth look at Mohawk sovereignty.

About the author

Donna Goodleaf is a Mohawk from Kahnawake territory. She is associated with the Traditional Longhouse in her territory and has a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Entering the Warzone: A Mohawk Perspective on Resisting Invasion is her first book with Theytus.
