Description
Why do volcanoes spit lava? How do earthquakes shake solid ground? What makes Old Faithful gush? For centuries, people have been fascinated with nature's tantrums. In Earthdance, kids can explore the jigsaw of tectonic plates covering our rambunctious planet and discover what happens when these plates collide. They'll read about people who fought lava with fire hoses, a girl whose house split down the middle and a whole town that suddenly disappeared. Activities help kids understand what causes these destructive forces and how scientists are working to protect Earth.
