About the author

Contributor Notes

Andrew D. Hathaway is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph. He does research in the areas of illicit drug use, harm reduction, human rights, and Canadian drug policy. Professor Hathaway has held a number of federal grants to study the use of marijuana for medical conditions and broader normalizing trends of cannabis consumption using surveys, interviews, and ethnographic methods. He has published extensively in these areas in journals. Drugs and Society is his first textbook.
