About the authors
G.P. Browne (?-1983) received his university education at the University of British Columbia and at Oxford. He tutored Modern History at Oxford for four years before becoming an assistant professor of history at the University of Wisconsin. In 1965 he was appointed an assistant professor of history at Carleton University.
Janet Ajzenstat is professor emeritus, political science, McMaster University. Her most recent book on the Canadian constitution is The Once and Future Canadian Democracy: An Essay in Political Thought.
