Description

This volume, first published in 1998, collects analyses of the Multilateral Agreement on Investment by labour activists, Aboriginal leaders, environmentalists and academics.
The MAI, when finalized in 1998 and submitted to national legislatures for ratification, will be a charter of rights and freedoms for international capital. This book is the most substantive critical analysis available on the subject, examining the MAI's economic, social, cultural and environmental effects in Canada and worldwide.
Dismantling Democracy is a key resource for anyone interested in understanding the agreement, and its impact on Canada and the world.
