Description

This book covers the perennial debates of Canadian politics in a way that will appeal to both the layperson and the introductory student. Each topic is addressed in three ways: first, an introduction to the essential terms and history of the issue; second, an affirmative response to the question; and third, a negative response.

The book can supplement the normal 'structures and institutions' approach to Canadian politics. It can also stand alone for those who want to be informed on the issues that matter most to many Canadians today. As Dunn argues in the Introduction, the most informed reader may be the one who considers both sides of the arguments with a healthy scepticism.
