About the authors

Ted Cable is an award-winning leader in environmental education in the United States. He has consulted on conservation projects in more than 20 states, has designed several nature parks and preserves, and has worked extensively on conservation projects in Latin America and Africa. Currently a professor of Park Management and Conservation at Kansas State University, Dr. Cable is the author of more than 150 articles and presentations on conservation and has written five books to date. He recently was honored by both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for outstanding teaching in the field of environmental education.

GREGORY KENNEDY has been an active naturalist since he was very young. He is the author of many books on natural history, and has also produced film and television shows on environmental issues and indigenous concerns in Southeast Asia, New Guinea, South and Central America, the High Arctic and elsewhere.

Roger Burrows has travelled throughout North America, spending many years in Atlantic Canada where he worked for Parks Canada as a naturalist, interpretive planner, and consultant. An avid birder, his expertise is apparent in page after page of information-packed introductions to the birding hotspots that grace the shores, fields, and woodlands of New Brunswick. He is also the author of several birding "bibles," including A Birdwatcher#&39;s Guide to Atlantic Canada and Birds of Atlantic Canada as well as Birds of Oregon, Birds of New England, Birds of Pennsylvania, and Birds of the Great Plains.
