Description
Beyond the Next Horizon is a collection of ten poems written to resonate with the reader. Whether young or old, these poems will give you a sense of familiarity as they may resemble situations in your own life. Some are meant to tickle your funny bone, and show that the glass is always half-full. Others remind you that everyone has gone through losing or missing something. Life is a never-ending cycle, and when one door closes another one opens, almost immediately. In the end, this book highlights the fact that there can be a rainbow beyond the next horizon.

Contributor Notes
Gi Gi Mac (Geneva McCharles) was born in the small town of Porcupine, Ontario, nestled beside the lake of the same name, just east of Timmins. She went to a small public school, where she was introduced to reading, writing, and arithmetic. Her grade eight public school teacher, Frank, frequently remarked, “You’re always at the end of the cow’s tail,” meaning she was always last in line. After many years of hard work, she moved to the Ottawa Valley, and with her second publication, Gi Gi is no longer in last place; now she is a bit closer to “the cow.” Frank, she hopes you are watching or listening from up there.
After a few years of raising her two children, she returned to school and began writing poetry. Now she writes books for children. This one is called Beyond the Next Horizon.
