Description

Daryl Sexsmith's passion for wilderness and the canoe as a vehicle to explore that wilderness comes through loud and clear in this memoir of living and travelling on Canadian rivers, and the strong bonds forged between canoeing friends.

About the author

Daryl Sexsmith grew up in rural Prince Albert along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. From an early age he was drawn to wilderness canoeing, and after his first trip he didn't want to waste summer vacation time on any activity other than canoe-tripping. To date he has completed 75 canoe trips and he hasn't hung up his paddle yet. He is grateful for his many paddling friends who have teamed up with him to complete these trips over the years. Daryl worked for several years as a minister with the United Church of Canada, and canoeing was part of his ministry; he led youth and adult trips for the church. It was while writing sermons with illustrations from canoe trips that Daryl discovered a love of writing that eventually led to the publication of this book. For Daryl, there has always been another river.
