Description

A hungry grizzly bear named Alsek journeys through the Yukon wilderness in high summer, searching for something to eat. Alsek's ABC Adventure can be enjoyed over and over again by youngsters and their parents. It's a great way to learn about the alphabet and something about Northern life, too.

About the author

Yukon artist Chris Caldwell blends real-life experience with her zany sense of humour to create an entertaining narrative of northern life in her first book, Alsek's ABC Adventure. Caldwell was born in Manitoba, raised in BC and came of age as an artist after moving to the Yukon many years ago. Growing up in the great Canadian outdoors, she learned to respect wilderness and the animals who inhabit it. Caldwell doesn't joke around about real encounters with wild animals, however. People should keep a safe distance from bears and other creatures in the woods. They deserve our respect and are better left alone.
