Description

They came west looking for new opportunities and they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Entrepreneurs such as James Lougheed, Max Bell, Eric Harvie and A.E. Cross all had a few characteristics in common: they were exceptionally ambitious and took enormous risks. And they went from rags to riches.

About the author

Susan Warrender is a second-generation native Calgarian. She has written magazine articles on maritime history, and also writes for children’s theatre. Susan’s plays have been performed at Calgary’s Jubilee Auditorium and toured to Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. Susan’s primary passion is travel, so that she can get “up close and personal” with history. From the battlefields of Gettysburg to the beaches of Normandy, Susan has been there, done that and bought the souvenir mug (she has over 300 in her collection).
