Editorial Reviews

Living in Texas we grill year round so I'm always looking for new recipes. 100 Best Grilling Recipes certainly didn't disappoint. Although we are asked to test three recipes for the review, I've already served more than that. I tested Asian-Flavored Pork Tenderloin and it was awesome. The marinade of orange juice and zest and five-spice powder penetrated into the meat. As well, it was a wonderful glaze giving the end result a beautiful grilled look. I served it with Grilled Polenta and it was a good match. It seemed like the sage and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese was a good blend with the citrus blend of the tenderloin. I normally don't combine different ethnic dishes but this one worked very well. The second recipe I tested was Salmon with Brazilian Spice. The combination of garlic, lemon and orange juices, orange zest, cayenne, bay leaves and brown sugar made a wonderful marinade. It penetrated into the salmon and after grilled it became one of the best grilled salmon dishes I've ever tasted. The other recipes I made were Lavender Hill Butter and is one of the best I've had on lamb. And, the Rosemary Lemon and Mustard Paste is wonderful for chicken. I love this book! Kathleen Sloan-McIntosh has given foodies alternatives to the same-old, same-old grilling recipes. I can certainly say that 100 Best Grilling Recipes gives the best in this category. This book would make a great gift book for any grilling enthusiast.
