Anna Paletta Zurzolo, a mother of two and a successful business woman, came to Canada from Italy at the age of fourteen. She "learned all about Dick, Jane and everything else in order to survive in `paradise` among boxes of Unico tomatoes, pasta, and `undefiled` olive oil in the basement of my father`s grocery store." She now calls Winnipeg home. Bread, Wine and Angels is her first novel.
