Michael Robinson
Mike Robinson is now a resident of Skelhp, a rural community on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast. He grew up in Vancouver and attended UBC and University College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. His career was for 30 years (1978 - 2008) centred in Calgary, where he worked as one of the first generation of environmental and social affairs professionals in the oil patch, as the Executive Director of the Arctic Institute of North America, and as the CEO of the Glenbow Museum. In 2009 he became CEO of the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art in Vancouver. In his volunteer life Mike has chaired the national boards of Friends of the Earth, the David Suzuki Foundation, and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society. He became a Member of the Order of Canada in 2004.
