Rachel A. Qitsualik was born and raised in the traditional Inuit culture of the late 1950s. After working for some time as a language specialist and consultant, she found success as a writer. Together with her husband, Sean A. Tinsley, she has published hundreds of articles on Inuit culture/ folklore, many of which are used as educational content around the world. She has also contributed to many books, including Ring of Ice, Our Story, America is Indian Country, and Canada in 2020, and has authored two childrenÂ?s books, The Shadows that Rush Past and Qanuq Pinngurnirmata: Inuit Stories of How Things Came to be, as well as the adult short story collection, Ajjiit: Dark Dreams of the Ancient Arctic.
