About

Jay Onrait

Jay Onrait is a Canadian television personality, author, sports anchor, and most importantly your friend. Born in Calgary, Jay and his family eventually moved to Athabasca, where he was raised in the aisles of the family drug store. Following a two-year stint at the University of Alberta, a period he refers to as his “Lost Years,” Jay applied to and was surprisingly accepted at Ryerson University in Toronto, where he enrolled in the prestigious Radio and Television Arts Program. Several hundred orders of Pad Thai from Salad King later, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and embarked on a career in television. Flash forward to 2003, when Jay landed a job hosting TSN’s SportsCentre alongside Dan O’Toole and became the stuff of legend. Jay and Dan taped their final episode of SportsCentre in June 2013-upsetting Canadian sports fans from coast to coast-and joined the launch of the new Fox Sports 1 network in Los Angeles as hosts of their flagship show, Fox Sports Live. Somewhere along the way, Jay found time to write the bestselling memoir Anchorboy and co-create the wildly successful “Jay & Dan Podcast,” which continues to make people laugh to this day. Jay is married and currently resides in Los Angeles, where he tries to limit his In-N-Out Burger trips to once a week.
