Isobelle McFadyen

ISOBELLE MCFADYEN grew up in the Valley Plain School district just north of Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, where she received her first eight years of schooling in the same one-roomed schoolhouse that her mother and grandmother had attended.

As a teenager, she became fascinated withthe creative writing process and enjoyed her first publishing success at age 15 when her work found its way into The Watson Witness and The Western Producer. Her writing has spanned several decades and has offered her the opportunity to enjoy being a freelance writer, poet, creative writing instructor, book reviewer, editor and tutor.

Isobelle's work has appeared in numerous publications including: Western People, The StarPhoenix, Freelance Magazine, Canadian Children's Literature Magazine,Saskatchewan Women, The Saskatchewan Lupine, Canadian Author and The Muse Journal, along with anthologies such as Driftwood, Friends and Fences, and Subtle Voices. Although she continues to enjoy writing fiction, in recent years her focus has been on writing and teaching Life Story and Family History Writing. In terms of personal satisfaction,Our Legacy: The Govan-Walter Story is definitely the highlight of her career.
