Joan Finnigan was born in Ottawa and attended Carleton University and Queen’s University. She has worked for the CBC and the National Film Board and continues to write, particularly poetry and the history of the Ottawa Valley. She has been shortlisted for the Trillium Award and the Pat Lowther Poetry Award.
