J. CAM FINLAY has been a geologist, a naturalist and an author. He founded the John Janzen Nature Centre in Edmonton. He is a past president of the Canadian Museums Association and was the first chief park naturalist to be hired by the National Parks Service. Cam currently lives in Victoria, BC, where he remains actively involved in birding, particularly in the banding of hummingbirds, as well as nature conservation.
