About

Ena Farrell Edwards

Ena Farrell Edwards received her early education in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, where she was born. She later attended the Commercial Academy of Our Lady of Mercy at St. John’s, Newfoundland, but in 1967 she left the field of business to become Librarian at the St. Lawrence Library, a position she held until her retirement in 1987. The history of her community has long been one of her primary interests. A preserver of all that is old, Mrs. Edwards is involved with many phases of community life and is an active member of the St. Lawrence Heritage Society. She’s the recipient of several prestigious awards—the Newfoundland Historical Society Award, the Federal Citation for Citizenship Award, the Cancer Society Award, and most recently, on the Governor General’s visit to St. John’s, she received the Governor General’s Caring Award.
