Alberto Di Giovanni was born in Roccamorice, in the Region of Abruzzo, on June 22, 1945. He attended the classical lyceum in Chieti until 1963, when he left Italy to join his family in Canada. He attended the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s College, graduating with an Honours B.A. in Political Science and Languages, in 1971, and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Italian Language and Literature, in 1973.
