Carl Braun
Carl Braun is professor emeritus of applied psychology at the University of Calgary. His professional work includes classroom teaching at all levels, and research and teaching in both Canadian and American universities. His career path reflects a lifelong passion for the study of reading/language learning, especially by struggling students, and a growing interest in the link between language learning and the arts. He is a past president of the International Reading Association, and he was a member of the International Task Force on Literacy and consultant to the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child. Dr. Braun is the author of numerous publications, including four Readers Theatre books co-authored with his daughter, Winn Braun. He holds an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Manitoba, and he is a member of the IRA Reading Hall of Fame.
