David Beasley, a graduate of McMaster University, studied and worked in Europe, then settled with his wife in New York City. There he obtained a graduate degree in library science and a PhD in economics and worked as a research librarian at the New York Public Research Libraries. Now retired to Simcoe, Ontario, his books include a biography of John Richardson, Canada’s first great novelist.
