About the authors

The text was dictated by Suzanne Wheeler’s father, Maxwell Ross Rowe, to her in 2009-2010, shortly before he died of cancer. M.R Rowe was a crewman on the Fronie Myrtle. The schooner was built by the author’s grandfather Eli William Rowe in 1935. Suzanne Wheeler is retired. Previously she served as the Regional Manager of Operations for the Office of the Chief Information Officer of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. She was born in Chance Cove, NL, the home harbour of the Fronie Myrtle, but currently resides in Grand Falls-Windsor. Wheeler is also the author of First Encounter, published in 2006.
